Immunisation Advisory Centre

IMAC is based on the National Network of Immunisation Co-ordinators and others involved in the delivery of immunisation services. From our centre we provide information, education and support to health professionals and the public.

Paediatric Society of New Zealand

The Paediatric Society of New Zealand believes all children and youth should, by right, attain optimal physical, mental and social health and well being. By working as a co-ordinated national network of health professionals the Society dedicates its efforts and resources to this end.

Commissioner for Children

Monitor and review policy and practice under the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act. Promote the welfare of children and young people and ensure that their rights are recognised.

Plunket

Plunket is New Zealand's leading provider of well child and family health services in New Zealand. It provides a unique mix of a professionally educated workforce working hand-in-hand with volunteers throughout New Zealand.

Plunket is in touch with all local needs ranging from Maori, Pakeha and Pacific people, while also catering for those in all corners of New Zealand. Plunket programmes aim to support families with young children by providing appropriate clinical and support programmes, educational activities.

SafeKids

Safekids New Zealand is the child safety service of Starship Children’s Health, and was established by the hospital’s Trauma Services in the early 1990s. The aim of the service was, and still is to reduce the numbers of children who are admitted to hospitals, or killed by preventable injuries. Since its inception the injury death rate for New Zealand children has fallen by 12%.

Get Kids Active

GKA (GetKidsActive.com) aims to help provide parents, teachers and caregivers with advice, resources, downloads about getting children physically active in an increasingly inactive world.

5+ a day - promoting “The Colour Way “ - lots of colourful leaflets and posters and a “kit” for early childhood centres to use with heaps of practical ideas and information

Vegfed ( New Zealand Vegetable and Potato Grower’s Federation Inc.) - more colourful brochures and recipes - also possible refund system on money spent on fresh vegetables used in health promotion activities – check them out

Heart Foundation- healthy heart award for early learning centres, information and resources , also in the Auckland area looking at a specific initiative around WellChild /Tamariki Ora week – so watch that space
